Careen Low

Careen Low is the founder and managing director of First Eyewear Centre. A fully qualified optician, Careen focuses on building close relationships with her customers.

Her mission “customer for life” leads her present team to create a patient-centred primary eye care practice. She attributes her success in the optics industry to her relentless dedication to customer satisfaction and care.

Careen’s goal is to promote the importance of eye health to every customer. To achieve this, she continually upgrades the store’s facilities and services, and is passionate about educating everyone about eye health.

Chimene Lim

Chimene Lim graduated from Cardiff University, United Kingdom, with first class honours (BSc(Hons) Optometry). She is a member of the College of Optometrists, UK. Chimene is presently First Eyewear Centre’s Chief Executive Officer and a council member of the Singapore Optometric Association.

Having completed her post-undergraduate training and undertaken work as a locum optometrist in multiple fast-paced high-street practices overseas, Chimene has gained years of experience in clinical management and holistic patient care. She is passionate about educating her patients about their eye health and specialises in myopia control, abnormal ocular conditions and specialty contact lenses. In order to contribute to the ever-evolving optics industry, Chimene frequently shares her clinical experience with colleagues and provides regular training sessions to First Eyewear Centre’s professional team.

During an eye exam, Chimene takes the time to understand each and every patient’s visual needs and preferences. Her thorough approach not only ensures superb patient care, but also allows the patient to obtain tailored visual solutions for their needs. She also has a friendly demeanour which allows her to easily build rapport with children and adults alike.

Tan Si Rui

Tan Si Rui completed his optometry training in Cardiff University(United Kingdom) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Optometry with Honours. Si Rui is currently the Clinical Director of First Eyewear Centre and serves as a council member of Singapore Optometric Association(SOA).

Si Rui takes every opportunity to raise public awareness of the role of an Optometrist. As part of providing children myopia management, he has special interests in orthokeratology/corneal refractive therapy and myopia control day soft contact lenses. He places great emphasis on patient education as he believes that it is crucial for patients to understand their options.

Si Rui is an advocate of eye health literacy and clinical optometry, he has been actively involved in public talks as well as Continuing Professional Education(CPE) for Optometrists and Opticians. He was invited as speaker and engaged as Key Opinion Leader(KOL) for panel discussions and to deliver talks/ webinars by industry partners like Johnson & Johnson Vision, EssilorLuxottica, Singapore Polytechnic, Shamir Singapore and others.

Alan Loh

Alan Loh is First Eyewear Centre’s senior optometrist. He belongs to the pioneer batch of locally trained Diploma in Optometry graduates in 1997. He subsequently pursued and obtained his Advance Diploma in Optometry from Singapore Polytechnic in 2006.

Alan has special interests in customised sports eyewear and is an expert in crafting specialised eyewear for vocational use. His knowledge and drive lies in tailoring individual solutions to each patient, allowing a unique and customised experience for all of his patients based on their specific visual needs. He is also adept in problem-solving and providing expert advice to optical dispensing solutions. Alan is well-versed with the technical aspects of ophthalmic lens processing and has experience with conducting training sessions for in-store lab work.

With over 20 years of optometric experience, Alan delivers meticulous and quality service to patients in his daily practice. He specialises in geriatric optometry and skilfully brings patience, dedication and expertise to those under his care.

Ong Jun Kang

Ong Jun Kang completed his Diploma in Optometry from Singapore Polytechnic. He strives his best and is dedicated to serve his patients to fulfil their eye care needs. Jun Kang is also very passionate about primary eye care. He has a keen eye for detail and makes sure all his patients’ concerns are addressed accordingly.

Jun Kang is keen in ocular pathology and abnormal eye conditions, and passionate about common eye conditions like glaucoma and cataracts. He is always willing to learn and will continue to give his best in all aspects of optometry. Jun Kang excels in providing quality care and demonstrates patience in his practice. He has a gentle demeanour and always goes the extra mile for his patients.

Kolin Lui

Kolin Lui graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with a Diploma in Optometry. Kolin is dedicated to ensuring patients have their eye health well taken care of. She has a keen eye for fashion and a flair for frame-styling based on the patient’s facial features and individual personality.

Kolin’s aim is to ensure every patient has a great in-store experience, and ultimately take away helpful advice about how to best look after their eyes. Her favourite aspect of optometry is learning about eye conditions and managing patients who currently suffer from them. Her calm and thoughtful nature makes her approachable and easygoing, creating a comfortable space for her patients.

 

Priscilla Teo

Priscilla completed her Diploma in Optometry from Singapore Polytechnic. She practices focusing on patient-centered care by listening actively, understanding their concerns, and providing personalised treatment plans that are in the best interest of the patient meeting their needs and preferences. Her ability to get straight to the point when talking often leads to more meaningful and efficient conversations.

What motivates her as an Optometrist is to witness the immediate impact when her patients try on their new glasses or contact lenses and experience improved vision. She believes that helping people see clearly and comfortably can significantly improve their quality of life and overall well-being.
